Improvements

Animation : Can now preview non-Mecanim animation in previewer.
Graphics: Added "Read/Write Enabled" checkbox to Model Import Settings. Disabling this will reduce memory footprint of meshes.
iOS: Added request for re-orientation on iOS5 and newer when allowed auto-rotation orientations were changed.
Mecanim : Animator to play nice with physics ( Animate Physics" toggle on Animator component).
Mecanim : Changed LookAt API.
Mecanim : Refactored Transition editor.
Mobile: Increased max texture size for OpenGL ES 2.0 to 4096 and added handling of GPU imposed restrictions on texture size at runtime.
Mobile: Enabled OnMouse event processing for scripts that use it.
Fixes
Android: Portrait upside down orientation caused errors when building the .apk.
Android: EGL context recreation is fully supported (when pausing/resuming, or changing DisplayBuffer bit-depth, or anti-aliasing).
Audio: Fixed problems playing back audio files whose paths contain special characters.
Audio: Fixed problems displaying audio files whose paths contain special characters in the inspector.
Audio: Fixed reverb filter diffuse slider inconsistency.
Audio: Fixed looping issue on tracked music files.
Audio: Fixed length determination for tracked music files.
Audio: Fixed m_IgnoreListenerVolume property (was not working in the expected way).
Editor: Fixed DnD references being empty during DragExited after a DragPerform.
Editor: Update visible rect when horizontal scrollbar is needed because vertical scrollbar is used.
Editor: Clamping of the scroll position to account for the visible rect of the scrollview.
Editor: Fix scrollview returning scroll position out of view rect size when using scrollwheel.
Editor: Correctly handle when null string is passed to a TextField.
Editor: Don't show Display Resolution Dialog when using CTRL-B from the editor and it's turned off.
Editor: Fixed EditorWindow.ShowPopup with initial position of 0, 0 not rendering correctly.

iOS: Fixed iPad splash handling when starting in portrait.
Mecanim: support for script from 3.5 with ModelImportClipAnimation.
Mecanim: Fixed adding transition to upper statemachines.
Mobile: Fixed wrong lighting when dynamically batching uniformly scaled meshes.
NavMeshAgent : Fix crash querying nextOffMeshLinkData when having no navmesh in scene.
Profiler: Fixed hang on editor or player when connection could not keep up with the data.
Scene View: Fix scene editor camera becoming locked out from user control.
Script: Fixed crash when calling material.GetFloat(null).
Shuriken: Gracefully handle when mesh is invalid, instead of leaving the emitter in a bad state.
The following are changes and fixes to 4.0 features and regressions...

Changes

Editor: Generate temporary preview for audio asset if no preview is associated with the asset.
Editor: Make it possible to render waveforms for audio clips that do not have an importer.
Editor: Do not clip icons in list mode for asset store groups.
Editor: Made Add Component dropdown work with custom name scripts, with multi-selection, and perform same edge case handling as Component menu.
Editor: Do not generate muscleclips when loading assetbundles since they are already baked in.
Editor: Made selected asset store search result preview independent on quality settings.
Editor: Expose the url string in AsyncHTTPClient.
Editor: Make sure asset store asset icons will not get blurred when the qualitysetting is set to fast.
Editor: When previews icons are in invalid non-square format is not scaled anymore but drawn centered with default background color.
Editor: Make link to open public asset store webpage package url in external browser work.
Editor: Asset store asset with no previews now shows default icon and proper background.
Muscle-clip Animation Preview: Fade quicker between the floors in the avatar preview.
Project Browser: New set of default saved filters (Materials, Models, Prefabs and Scripts) with preview icon size saved.
Project Browser: Min icon size changed to 64 (from 128).
Fixes

GUI: Fix missing mouse events with all GUI scripts have useGUILayout = false.
GUI: Fix drawing GUIContent.texture size regression in labels.
Linux: Don't append input string on key release.
Linux: Correctly package native plugins with players.
Project Browser: Draw correct selection on right click. Also ensure that selection handles modifier keys for multiselection.
Project Browser: Fixed issues related to controlIDs inconsistency.
Project Browser: Fixed previews for dirty assets: it is regenerated when needed.
Project Browser: Fixed constant repaint issue when GetAssetPreview was NOT called.
Project Browser: Fixed minor tree navigation issue with empty folders.

Known Issues

Linux: Players running in batchmode incorrectly render into a visible window
